The Champion
A 32-time NASCAR race winner, Bobby Labonte is one of only four drivers in NASCAR’s history to win a championship in the top two tiers of the sport. Winning an Xfinity Series Championship in 1991 and the NASCAR Cup Series Championship in 2000. He then added the 2001 IROC Series Championship to his winning career. In 2020, Bobby received the highest honor in NASCAR when he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
Today, Bobby remains at the forefront of the racing scene. From 2022-2023, Bobby raced full-time in the SMART Modified Tour, bringing home 4 wins, and a partial schedule in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and he will take on a similar schedule in 2024. His broadcasting career has continued to flourish as he makes regular appearances on FS1 as an analyst on the popular Race Hub and Race Day programs. Recently, Joe Gibbs Racing announced Bobby’s return to the family in a newly created role where he will represent the legacy of the organization alongside Coach Joe Gibbs, while working in a development role with up-and-coming drivers.
The Hall of Famer
Bobby’s induction into the NASCAR Hall of Fame was the culmination of decades of hard work, dedication, and grinding away in the race car. All of Bobby’s NASCAR accomplishments are now written into the history books: competing in over 700 races, 21 Cup wins and more than 25 years of NASCAR history.
The Driver
Bobby’s experience has extended well beyond American soil. As the All-American Race Car Driver, Bobby has made appearances at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and Europe’s largest pre-season motorsports conference Autosport International. In 2018, Bobby also became the first NASCAR Champion to race a full season in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series.
From cycling to running, hiking to cross-country skiing, Bobby personifies health, fitness and performance and integrates technology into his training. He is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting and fishing and has appeared on numerous outdoor hunting and fishing television programs with the likes of Realtree and LL Bean.
The Philanthropist
Bobby is a devoted philanthropist, launching the Bobby Labonte Foundation in 2003 to benefit local North Carolina organizations who help build stronger foundations for children and families through an annual grant program. The Bobby Labonte Foundation has donated nearly $1 million over the years.
The Celebrity
Bobby has represented some of the biggest household brands in America and beyond. Led by his 25-year partnership with Coca-Cola, Bobby was one of the original Coke Family of Drivers and his relationship with Coke remains alive and well today. However, Bobby made the green 18 famous with the help of a long-term partnership with Interstate Batteries. Over the years, Bobby also represented the likes of General Mills and Cheerios, Toyota, Clorox, Dow Chemical, ConAgra Foods, MBNA, Universal Pictures, GlaxoSmithKline, and Shell to name a few. More recently, Bobby’s partnership with the iconic Cook Out has taken center stage as the primary partner on his modified race car.
To his 145,000+ X followers, his 85,000 Facebook fans, and his Instagram audience of nearly 20,000, Bobby is still the King of Cool – he is current, modern, stylish, and confident. His down-to-earth boy-next door personality makes him one of the most approachable and magnetic personalities in all of professional sports. He has a long and varied list of off the track experiences including speaking engagements, as a parade grand marshal, celebrity driver, and special guest appearances.
Family has always played an important role in Bobby’s life. He is quite proud of his son Tyler, daughter-in-law Bailey and his daughter Madison who have grown up around his racing but are now young adults and building careers of their own. Bobby is married to his wife Kristin, a former professional and champion cyclist. They live outside High Point, North Carolina with their chihuahua Josey.
